Lots of attractions and places to visit abound in the surrounding areas
of Christchurch, Poole, Swanage, Wimborne, the Isle of Purbeck, the
New Forest and Beaulieu. Visitors without their own transport are well
catered for by the local coach companies offering many daily tours and
the railway.
Dorset Belles Cruising Company operate cruises from Bournemouth Pier and
Poole Quay. Poole is an old seafaring town with working quay and Europe's
largest natural harbour. Poole Park has a miniature steam railway, children's
indoor play area and boating lake. Poole has museums, boat trips to Brownsea
Island, Compton Acres, Potteries. Christchurch offers an 11th century
Priory, ruins of Norman Keep, museums, and the Alice in Wonderland Maze.
The New Forest National Park - largest area of open heath and woodland
in England; Museum and Visitor Centre in Lyndhurst provide an insight
